Sometimes we can be a little generous with the grease and in travel, it can seap a bit. If the knob is sticking, grab a thin cloth and place it between the top and bottom of the fknob, hold the fknob down and twist so the cloth can wipe off any excess grease off the shaft that might be making it stick.
-
It will take 350ms (0.35 seconds). It wasn't originally like this but it was a request from Josh Smith (it’s his signature pedal). You need to double tap to get to character, and originally when it instantly turned off it would pop in between, as it would toggle bypass with the first tap. This way if it gets another tap in the 350ms it doesn't toggle bypass instead it just switches between bias and character. It's instant from MIDI.
-
The LEDs use a bunch of battery power if they are on. Leave it in bypass to consume less power.
-
Input is pink.
Output is green.
-
Kanso saves your settings when you switch between diodes with the fknob. If you change via MIDI, it will not save.
-
You change the diode by sending a program change as each diode is a preset.
-
Yes. Reduce bias or reduce input level, either by playing softer or turning down your volume. If you want more volume with less gain, turn up character. Explore higher bias tones for interesting effects.
-
We use the names bias and character as people have pretty clear assumptions on what level and gain will do, and in this case they don't really do that.
You can't really move a gain knob too "wrong"… you can with a bias. So it's more like a combo of gain and voltage starving (bias).

Voodoo Labs Mondo and Pedal Power 2 won’t work. They don’t have high enough current outputs.
I use and recommend the Strymon Ojai & Zuma, Walrus Canvas and the Cioks Future Power series (DC7 / Eventide Powermax) for multiple pedals.
You need a 9V centre negative power supply with a boss style connector. It needs to supply at least 500mA for Verbs, Flat V & Ample.
It needs to be exactly 9V, but can provide more than 500mA, for example 9V 1amp is fine.
-
Type A midi cables.
No MIDI box / etc is needed as the pedal has opto isolation on board and midi thru.
-
No. The unit will usually take 30-40 seconds to boot when powered up. Rainbow rain will keep falling until the unit has initialised.
If the unit hasn’t started up after a minute of the start up sequence, try cycling the power. If it doesn’t start up properly after that, get in touch as there is something really wrong.

Before Pink serial 475, Blue Beebo serial 338: Type B, 3.5 MM TRS. This is the same ring active pin out as Chase Bliss.
Pink serial 475-876, Blue Beebo serial 338-936 : Type A input, 3.5 MM TRS. This is the MIDI standard pin out. Type B output. It's stupid.
Pink serial 877 or later, Blue Beebo serial 937 or later: Type A input and output, 3.5 MM TRS. This is the MIDI standard pin out.
Hector & Flat V and all type A in and out.
No MIDI box / etc is needed as the pedal has opto isolation on board and midi thru.

Previously the two colours were different products before the firmwares were merged in to one, so you might see mentions of the reverbs being in Digit. Now everything is in a single pedal called Beebo. Older units can be upgraded to the latest firmware.
-
All the ones that end in .deb in the firmware folder need to be downloaded and put on the USB flash drive.
-
Yes. The recorded IRs need to be 48 kHz, any bit depth max 3.5 seconds, though trim them to as short as possible to improve performance. There's a lot of videos on YouTube about how to capture vintage gear or real spaces.

To change a preset with a program message, press the floppy disk icon to get to the preset screen. Tap set list and add preset here. The number next to them is what program change message you should send to change to that preset. This is also the order the foot switch pairs with D and E will step through them.
